Foundation Waterproofing
A building's foundation and plinth beams are in continuous contact with wet earth and groundwater tables. Lacking a structural damp-proofing barrier, concrete capillaries draw moisture upward (capillary action), leading to damp walls, saltpetre efflorescence, and eventual rusting of reinforcement steel.
Our Foundation Waterproofing Systems
- External Bituminous Coatings: High-build, rubberized bituminous emulsions applied to external foundation walls, creating an impermeable barrier against soil acids and moisture.
- Damp Proof Course (DPC): Installing thick, polymer-modified bitumen layers at plinth levels to cut off capillary moisture rising from the ground.
- Plinth Protection Drainage: Laying dimpled HDPE protection boards to divert hydrostatic ground-pressure water safely away from foundation walls.
